Wanda Shaner-Snider Obituary

Wanda L. (Bilbrey) Shaner-Snider age 77, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday morning, February 9, 2025, at her home in Nashville.

Wanda was born in Mud Lick, Kentucky, to the late Clarence Ray and Martha Jernice (Davis) Bilbrey. She was a proud graduate of Lafette High School in Lafette, Tennessee, and went on to earn her certification as a Journeyman Electrician from Arsenal Tech. Wanda worked at the General Motors Bus and Truck Plant in Indianapolis for over 36 years, retiring in 2008. She was a devoted member of the Neighborhood Church of God in Nineveh, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Additionally, Wanda was a member of the United Auto Workers Union Local 23 in Indianapolis.

A passionate singer and musician, Wanda enjoyed playing her guitar and was learning how to play the mandolin. She also loved tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, canning, and caring for her beloved dog, Leonard. Wanda was a fan of the Law & Order television series and enjoyed participating in car shows with her husband, showcasing their recently restored 1971 Chevy pickup truck.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband, Norman L. Snider, whom she married on August 12, 2023, at the Neighborhood Church of God. She is also survived by her children, Connie (Randy) Wallace, Joe Shaner, Travis (Kelli) Snider and Brian Snider; her grandchildren, Chase (Lesley) Snider, Eli Snider, Colin Snider, Brittanie (Miguel) Cotrino and Kati (Jordan) Dill; as well as nephews, Brian Canter, Jason Anderson and Ronnie Dale Anderson Jr.; and siblings, Betty (James) Carpenter and Danny Ray Huddleston; several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Shaner; her sister, Patsy Ann Anderson; and a nephew, Chris Canter.

The Rev. Jim Albertson will conduct a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Needmore Cemetery in Brown County.
