Verbie D. (Slabaugh) Fannin, age 70, of Trafalgar, passed away peacefully at home on Friday morning, July 3, 2026, with her loving family by her side.
Born on August 1, 1955, in LaGrange, Indiana, Verbie was the daughter of the late Perry and Fannie (Miller) Slabaugh. She attended Brown County High School and married Harold H. Fannin, on March 1, 1973, in Nashville, Indiana. Together they shared 30 wonderful years of marriage until Harold's passing in August 2003.
Verbie was a faithful member of Greenwood Bible Baptist Church and had formerly attended New Life Church in Brown County. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures—playing board games, shopping, and enjoying meals with friends at Cracker Barrel. She especially loved taking golf cart and motorcycle rides with her grandchildren and cherished the peace and beauty of country living.
Above all else, Verbie's greatest joy was her family. She treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be forever cherished. Her kind heart and unwavering love for those around her will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She will be missed by her two daughters: Verbie (Lewis Trammell) Camden of Trafalgar and Christy (Scott) Ward of New Whiteland; grandchildren, Jacob Fields, Peyton Fields, Abby Camden, Austin Fannin, Chase (Alexis) Fannin, Chelsea (Casey Pryce) Fannin, Brianna (Tyler) Vaughn, Tyler (Sydney) Ward and LaShay Evans; great grandchildren, Matthew, Gabriel and Trinity Vaughn, Hailey Fields, Evelyn and Emersyn Fannin; siblings, Kandra Faulk, Stanley Miller and Danny Slabaugh and several step sisters as well as several nieces and nephews.
Verbie was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Mast, father, Perry Slabaugh, step mother, Ramona Slabaugh, infant son, Harold Fannin II and brothers, John & Roger Slabaugh.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, July 10th 2026 at Meredith Funeral Home: 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Unity Baptist Cemetery in Brown County.
