Trudie Ann Parson, age 61, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, August 29, 2025, at her home in Morgantown.
She was born on March 6, 1964, in Martinsville to the late John E. and Vetty M. (York) Tharpe. Trudie was a devoted mother, sister, and grandmother whose love for her family was unwavering.
She worked as a cashier at Speedway Gas Station in Taylorsville and was a faithful member of the Morgantown General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.
Trudie found joy in life’s simple pleasures — relaxing on her porch while watching hummingbirds, tending her flower gardens, traveling to the beach, exploring yard sales, and enjoying crime shows on television. Her warmth and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughters: Holley Zeigler of Marietta, Georgia, Jessica James of Morgantown and Dawn James of Woodstock, Georgia. She is also survived by her brothers, John E. Tharpe Jr. and Daniel Ray Tharpe, both of Morgantown; and her cherished grandchildren: Dylan Demoss of Pennsylvania, Alexander Wilkerson of Whiteland and Gregory Zeigler of Marietta, Georgia.
In addition to her parents, Trudie was preceded in death by her sister, Johnnie Marie Clark.
A funeral service will be conducted by Bro. Rodger Bunch at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 3rd at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may visit from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
Memorial contributions may be made in Trudie’s honor to the Morgantown General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn, 229 S. East St. Morgantown, IN 46160.
