Terrence Woodard Obituary

Terrence “Ted” Woodard, 99, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday evening, June 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on January 3, 1927, in Indianapolis, Ted was the son of the late Fred and Ruth (Shaft) Woodard. He attended McCordsville High School before proudly serving his country as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army during World War II. Following his honorable discharge on December 14, 1946, Ted returned home and built a life centered on hard work, family, and service to others.

Ted retired in 1986 as a Foreman with the Switzer Corporation in Indianapolis after 32 years of dedicated service. A proud veteran, he remained actively involved with fellow servicemen throughout his life as a member of both the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Ted embraced life with enthusiasm and enjoyed horseback riding, camping, and spending winters at Madeira Beach, Florida. He was a devoted fan of the Indiana Pacers, but nothing brought him greater joy than time spent with his family. He especially treasured his grandchildren and took great pride in watching his family grow through the generations.

Survivors include his daughter, Robbie L. Earlywine of Southport; his son, Michael (Deborah) Woodard of Martinsville; step children, Melinda Kent of McCordsville and Mark Wilkin of Greenwood; his son-in-law, Roger Sichting of Morgantown; grandchildren, Scott Sichting, Jamie Sichting, Travis Sichting, Angie Weiskettle, Chad Earlywine and January Woodard; 15 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren, all of whom will cherish his memory and the example he set through his love, strength, and unwavering devotion to family.

Ted was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Ramona L. (Lacy) Woodard, whom he married on April 15, 1949, in Indianapolis. She passed away on April 3, 1993. He later married Mary Elizabeth Woodard in 1997, and she preceded him in death on January 2, 2023. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Sichting; and step daughter, Maryann Morales.
