Tamberlyn S. “Tammy” (Garraux) Brock, age 63 passed away all too soon on Thursday morning, July 25, 2024 at her home in Brown County.
Tammy was born November 17, 1960 in Martinsville, to her parents, Ernest F. and Joann (Arnold) Garraux. She was a 1979 graduate of Brown County High School and retired in 2016 from the Indiana State Police Post in Bloomington where she worked as a Dispatcher for over 35 years. Tammy cherished her time as a dispatcher where her co-workers treated her like family. They would often refer to her as “Mama Bear”.
Tammy was a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Brown County. She enjoyed Bingo, crocheting, fishing, and tending to her flower & vegetable gardens. Tammy loved spending time with her family & friends, especially her best friend, Sandi Sears Benge, who she considered a sister, and vacationing at the beach. She will be remembered for her delicious Christmas and Cowboy candies.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Roger Dale Brock, whom she married on September 18, 1981 in Morgantown. Tammy was also preceded in death by her father, Ernest.
She is survived by her mother, Joann Garraux of Brown County; sisters, Deborah “Debbie” (Mike) Schroeder of Morgantown and Cynthia “Cindy” (Mike) Smoot of Brown County; nieces, Meagon (Seth) Herrin of Solsberry, Nikki (Anthony) Harden of Bloomington, Jennifer (Jason) Konrad of Speedway & Jessica Smoot of Texas; nephew, Clint (Amber) Schroeder of Trafalgar; great nieces and nephews, Ellasyn, Lainne, Carter, Canaan, Bryant, Lilly, Brock and Brantley.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6th at Unity Baptist Church: 7361 Spearsville Rd, in Brown County. Friends may call from 6 p.m. until service time at the church. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
