Sybel Elaine (Fannin) Sanders, age 70 of Brown County, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, June 2, 2024 at home with her loving family by her side.
Sybel was born August 19, 1953 in Indianapolis, to her parents, the late Harvey M. and Sybelelaine (Neller) Fannin. She grew up on her family’s farm in Brown County, where she enjoyed horseback riding, four wheeling and raising snakes & tarantulas. She attended Brown County High School and was an active member of the Brown County 4-H.
Sybel was a loving homemaker and previously worked as a Cook for Andy Rogers at the Nashville House, The Ordinary and Hotel Nashville. She enjoyed long walks in the woods, visiting with family & friends and window shopping. Sybel always looked forward to going to the movies every Sunday afternoon with her devoted husband, Bob.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Charles Hensley; and siblings, Virginia M. Slater, Havey “Mickey” Fannin, Harold “Harvey” Fannin & Ted John Fannin.
Sybel is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Robert A. “Bob” Sanders, whom she married on August 3, 1992 in Franklin. She is also survived by her children, Carolyn (Jay) Claywell of Franklin, Teddy (Kayliegh) Hensley of Taylorsville and Mary (Michael) Hensley of Hope; brother, Harrison “Mac” (Anita) Fannin of Arizona; grandchildren, Domonic (fiancée, Jolene Meek) Hensley of Hope, Sybel Claywell of Franklin, Andrew Hensley of Hope, Keagen Roane of Hope & Benny Roane of Taylorsville.
The Sander’s family would like to personally thank Main Street Hospice in Franklin for all their care and compassion that they have provided for Sybel and their family.
In keeping with Sybel’s wishes, she will be cremated and inurned at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at future date. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
