Ronnie G. Gill

Ronnie G. Gill, age 79, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, March 24, 2025, at Astral of Franklin.

Ronnie was born on January 9, 1946, in Bardwell, Kentucky, to the late Charles "Bodine" and Martha A. (O'Connor) Gill. He attended Emmerich Manual High School in Indianapolis and was drafted during the Vietnam War. He proudly served as a Private with the United States Marine Corps.

After his military service, Ronnie went on to retire from General Motors Truck and Bus, where he worked as a forklift operator. He was a member of the UAW Local 23 in Indianapolis. Ronnie will be remembered as a humble man who enjoyed ginseng hunting, fishing, and deer hunting. He was also a talented artist, creating several beautiful charcoal sketches from memory. Above all, Ronnie cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his daughters, Shannon (Byron) Swails of Franklin, Lori (Randy) Warford of Nashville, and Whitney Gill of Mooresville; siblings, Kathy (Ted) Smyth of Mooresville, and Charles “Charlie” (Nancy) Gill of Clayton; the mother of his children, Debbie Williams of Nashville; grandchildren, Brandon Hamilton, Alyssa Swails, Jacob (Rachel Hines) Swails, Whitney Gill, Tyler (Santana) Harden, Trenton (Ariana) Harden, Alexa Hildenbrand, Hannah Hildenbrand, Caleb (Danielle) Harrison, Ashton (Seth) Wintergerst, Jordan (Nik) Borisuk, Morgan (Thomas) Yaste, Justice (Levi) Augsburger, Liberty Warford, Ella Warford and Colton Warford; great-grandchildren, Matilee Hamilton, Presley Hamilton, Ensley Broer, Trip Harden, Blaine Harrison, Gemma Harrison, Emery Harrison, Colette Harrison, Eliza Jane Wintergerst, Waylon Wintergerst, Lachlan Borisuk, Brooklyn Borisuk, Calahan Borisuk, Maverick Yaste, Lucy Yaste and Duke Augsburger.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Samuel Asher Borisuk; and his sister, Janice Bryan.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27th from 4 to 8 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Pastor Rob Besosa will conduct a funeral service on Friday, March 28th at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. prior to the funeral service on Friday. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown, with military rites presented by the United States Marine Corps and the Brown County Honor Guard.
