Roger Dean Roller, age 94, of Trafalgar, passed away peacefully at home on Monday morning, April 20, 2026 with his loving family by his side.
Roger was born on December 7, 1931, in Glasgow, Kentucky, to the late Mason and Elizabeth (Reeder) Roller. He attended Southport High School. Roger retired in 1987 from American Box in Indianapolis, where he worked in the warehouse for over 35 years. Following his retirement, he continued working as a truck driver for Roberts Asphalt in Edinburgh, retiring again in 1999 after 12 years of service. In addition to his careers, Roger faithfully cared for his family farm, raising cows and pigs.
Roger enjoyed fishing with his family, mushroom hunting, and tending to his large garden each year. He was a devoted fan of Indiana University sports and the Indianapolis Colts, and he rarely missed watching old westerns or The Price Is Right. Above all, Roger will be remembered as a hardworking man who always provided for his family. He cherished time spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Margie E. (Bland) Roller, who passed away on December 8, 2020. They were married on May 19, 1951, in Indianapolis. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Warren Roller, Leonard Roller, Leslie Roller, and Alice Angrick.
Roger is survived by his daughters, Cindy Parson of Trafalgar, Deana Burdine of Morgantown, and Linda Hayworth of Trafalgar; his grandchildren, Daniel Turpin of Morgantown, Michelle Fleener of Trafalgar, Amy Satter of Martinsville, Brent (Ashley) Hayworth of Springville, and Matt Hayworth of Dugger; 10 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Patricia Peavey and Carolyn Branham of Franklin.
