Rebecca J. “Becky” Rodgers, 86, of Trevlac, Indiana peacefully went home to the Lord with her family by her side on Sunday February 2, 2025.
Born April 29, 1938 in Martinsville, Indiana to the late Virgil Balay and Mary (Walls) Balay Harmon. She married her husband of 64 years, Ray W. “Sonny” Rodgers Jr. on June 24, 1960 in Martinsville, he survives.
Becky worked at RCA in Indianapolis and Bloomington, Wasson’s Department Store, along with several retail jobs. She served as Jackson Township Trustee for several years. Becky enjoyed spending time with her family and friends both at home and traveling. She also enjoyed playing the lottery and made an appearance on the Hoosier Lottery Show.
She also leaves behind two children, Lisa Lazell of Nashville and Frank (Brenda) Rodgers of Nashville, five grandchildren, Andrew Lazell, Amber (Josh) Graham, Ashley (Doyle) Kell, Jerry “JR” Rodgers, and Jamie (Ron) Mathis, and nine great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Hailey, Austin, Lauren, Raydn, Coleman, Mac Ray, Mackenzie, and Gracie. Also surviving Becky is one sister, Kathy (Harmon) Page, sister in laws, Sue Balay, Mary Jane Richards, and Ruth Hopkins along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jack and Keith Balay, and one sister, Mollie Balay.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 7th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bear Creek Cemetery in Brown County.
