Peggy J. Troxal, a lifelong resident of Martinsville, passed away May 6th, 2026 at the age of 76.
Peggy was born June 13th, 1949 in Rice Hollow of Cooper, Kentucky to the late Andy and Leona Criswell. Peggy graduated from Indian Creek High School in 1968.
Peggy absolutely loved her family. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband. Peggy loved to crochet, watch cooking and baking shows. She enjoyed going to Native American Indiana Reservations to watch the pow wows. Her favorite music was that of Charlie Pride. Peggy loved to sit and listen to the rain on a tin roof.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and siblings Linda and Jesse.
Peggy is survived by her siblings James and Frank Criswell of Morgantown, and Vicki McIntyre of Florida. Children Jeff Troxal of Michigan City, Joey (Lorie) Troxal of Martinsville, and Savannah (Jacob) Lawrence of Arizona. Grandchildren Shelby Troxal, Jesse Troxal, Christian Troxal, Chance Jackson, Athena Troxal, and Beau Lawrence. Stepchildren Cindy (Rocky) Hayden of Martinsville, and Brian (Laurie) Troxal of Florida. Step grandchildren Tabitha Maxell, Tiara Shields, Travis Shields, Dillon Williams, Mariah Hughes, Brian Troxal, and Mary Troxal. 34 great grandchildren that she absolutely adored.
In honoring her wishes, Peggy will be cremated and then reunited with her husband, Ducky.
