Peggy Jo Fleener, age 73 passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, March 31, 2026 at Brown County Health & Living Community in Nashville. She was a resident of Martinsville.
Peggy was born July 19, 1952 in Columbus, to parents, the late Woodrow W. and Mabel E. (Zook) Fleener. She was a 1970 graduate of Indian Creek High School. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. In her earlier years, she worked at the Little Nashville Opry and Critser’s Flower Shop in Morgantown. Peggy later worked in the Garden Center for Lowes in Greenwood.
She was a member of the Bear Creek Church in Brown County. Peggy enjoyed sewing, crocheting and her delicious cooking. She was a fan of the television show Magnum PI. Peggy loved her family.
She is survived by her son, Matt (Carrie) Fleener of Martinsville; grandson, Woodrow Walker Fleener of Martinsville; brother, Harry (Donna) Fleener of Martinsville; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by a son, Sam Bolin; and siblings, Betty Asher, Thomas Fleener Sr., Richard Fleener, Sue Fleener and Barbara Denniston.
The Rev. Andy Fleener will conduct a graveside service on Friday, April 3rd at 11 a.m. at Bear Creek Cemetery in Brown County. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
