Patsy Ruth (Smith) Clark

Patsy Ruth (Smith) Clark, age 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at Homeview Health & Rehabilitation Center in Franklin.

Patsy was born September 22, 1938 in Johnson County to her parents, the late James and Dorothy (Haggard) Smith. She married William “Ephie” Clark on August 1, 1958 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church and celebrated 47 years together before his passing in 2005.

Patsy was a 50 year member of the Morgantown Eastern Star and was a former member of the Mt Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time in the outdoors by tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Patsy also enjoyed completing word search puzzles as well as listening to country and gospel music.

Patsy is survived by her children Jodi (Roy) Strawman of Morgantown, John Clark of Florida, bonus daughter, Donna (Mark) Monroe of Indiana; grandchildren, Lindsey (Joey) Adams, Kelly (Brad) Wilson, Kristi Clark (Travis Bullock) and bonus grandchildren, Michael and Caleb Slater; and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Eva Ann Chilman of North Vernon and Betty Lockhart of Greenwood.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ephie and siblings, Phyllis Doty, Jim Smith, Tom Smith and Almedia Clark.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28th at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Morgan County.
