Pamela Marie “Pam” (LaFata) Gauger, age 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, May 4, 2024 at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Indianapolis.
Pam was born January 1, 1952 in Indianapolis, to her parents, the late Donald and Dorothy (Wallace) LaFata. She was a 1970 graduate of Northwest High School in Indianapolis. She was a fan of Figure Eight Racing and Demolition Derbies, but her true passion in life was caring for her children, grandchildren and dog, Tobey. Her caring heart led her to become a Nanny and work in childcare for many years. Every year, she looked forward to spending time with her son on his birthday and working in his flower gardens. Pam will be remembered for her tasty Mac & Cheese and for her love of flower gardening.
Pam is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Kent C. Gauger, whom she married on July 10, 1998 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She is also survived by her children, David Plummer of Speedway and Kim (Andy) Matlock of Trafalgar; siblings, Maria (Vic) Davis of Denver, NC, Leslie Holt of Lumberton, SC, Terri (Dave) Johnson of Sedona, AZ, Bill (Diane) LaFata of Greenwood and Tony (Marsha) LaFata of Avon; grandchildren, Ashlynn (Shawn) Farnsworth of Brazil, Joe (Rachel) Minardo of Indianapolis, Jordyn Kyle of Quincy, Justin (Adi) Minardo of Whiteland, Jade Plummer of Danville, Meagan (Leah) Matlock of Tampa, FL, Madison & John Matlock both of Trafalgar; great grandchildren, Lynlea, Jack, Troy, Colt, Lorraine, Aleaha, Lucy, Frankie, Cayson, Mauni, Beck, Iris and Bodhi.
Besides her parents, Pam was preceded in death by a grandson, David Minardo.
A Celebration Gather will be held at a future date. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
