Natalie Nevaeh Louise Fleener, age 19, of Brown County, passed away all too soon on Friday evening, March 14, 2025, at IU Health in Bedford, along with her unborn son, Leeland.
Natalie was born on April 12, 2005, in Franklin. She was a talented self-taught cosmetologist who loved working with hair, nails, makeup and eyelashes. Natalie was known for her infectious sense of humor, often bringing laughter to her family and friends with her pranks and playful spirit. She also enjoyed making TikTok videos and spending time with her beloved dogs, King and Sheppey.
She is survived by her daughter, Dayja Umphress of Brown County; boyfriend, Brian Umphress of Bedford; her mother, Alexandria (Mike Caruthers) Drake of Franklin; siblings, Evan Fleener of Bloomington, Sebastion Fleener, Gavin Fleener, Peyton Ledbetter, Addison Caruthers, Abel Caruthers, Rosie Drake, Kizer Caruthers, and Keegan Drake, all of Brown County; Shelby & Reagan Caruthers of Indianapolis; paternal grandmother, Pamela Slater of Brown County; maternal grandmother, Rhonda (Brett) Chaney of Brown County; maternal grandfather, Ricky Stephens of Franklin; aunts, Jodi S. Boyd and Summer L. Bray of Brown County, Erica Drake of Indianapolis, Della Drake of Columbus and Sarah Drake of Missouri; as well as cousins, Trey Boyd, Chris Powell, Kelsey Priddy, Brailey Bray, Alyssa Farley, Kenzie Bray, Jurnee Jacobs, Ashley & Cierra Woodard.
Natalie was preceded in death by her father, Martin Lee "Marty" Fleener Jr.; her maternal grandmother, Nancy Stephens; her maternal grandfather, Eric Drake; her paternal grandfather, Martin L. Fleener Sr.; and her step-grandfather, Michael Slater.
A funeral service for Natalie will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street, Morgantown, Indiana. Friends may call on Thursday, March 20, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
