Michell A. Smith

Michell A. Smith, age 63 passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, January 26, 2025 at Community Hospital South, in Indianapolis. She was a former resident of Illinois.

Michell was born November 23, 1961 in Indianapolis to her parents, the late Henry and Peggy (Gabbei) Smith. She was a 1980 graduate of North Putnam High School. Michell retired from the State of Illinois in the Child Protective Services Department after 25 years of service.

Michell was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Illinois. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking and baking. She will be remembered most for her delicious Christmas candies and for her love and dedication to her family.

She will be missed by her brother, Bob (Kari) Smith of Brown County, nieces and nephew, Darian (Alicia) Smith of Madison, Cassandra (Andrew) Stolze of Plymouth, Massachusetts, Andrea Smith of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and Ryanne Smith of Greenwood and a great nephew Killian Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Leroy & Freida Smith, William & Annamaye Gabbei and her brother, William L. Smith

In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated with a Celebration of Life Service to take place this spring. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
