Michael "Mike" Scott Merriman

Michael “Mike” Scott Merriman, age 56 of Indianapolis, passed away on Monday evening, July 29, 2024.

Mike was born on September 12, 1967 in Indianapolis, to his parents, James R. and Rebecca M. (Decker) Merriman Sr. He attended Southport High School and worked as a self-employed construction contractor.

Mike enjoyed the outdoors by fishing, camping and caring for his horses. He was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and was known for collecting tools. Mike will be remembered for being genuine, kind hearted and had a willingness to help others in need. He will be missed by all those he loved and those he touched with his kindness.

Mike is survived by his mother, Rebecca “Becky” Merriman-Arnold of Indianapolis; siblings, Gerald “Jerry” Merriman and Christy Merriman both of Indianapolis; maternal grandmother, Emma Decker of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews; and several life-long friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Rodger Merriman Sr.; and a brother, James Rodger Merriman Jr. 

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 6th at 3 p.m. at Bear Creek Cemetery in Brown County. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
