Michael "Mickie" S. McCubbins

Michael S. “Mickie” McCubbins, 80, passed away peacefully Monday morning, May 11, 2026, at Franklin Meadows. He was a resident of Trafalgar.

Mickie was born March 13, 1946, in Indianapolis to the late Virgil and Norma (Bay) McCubbins. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mickie was a self-employed truck driver for many years before retiring.

He enjoyed reading his Bible, fishing, mushroom hunting, and good-naturedly aggravating family and friends. He also enjoyed watching old westerns, gardening, and caring for his dog, Buddy.

Mickie is survived by his children, Michael, Robert, and Matthew McCubbins; siblings, Walter, Jackie, Mary, Barbara, Jim, and Keith; as well as several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Margie, Susie, Virgil, Ronald & Rickey.

In keeping with Mickie’s wishes, he will be cremated with a Celebration of Life at a later date. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
