Martha C. “Marty” Roberts, 74, of Trafalgar, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of Saturday, March 28, 2026, surrounded by the love of her children.
Marty was born on April 19, 1951, in Indianapolis to the late Willy and Effie (Odessa) Leonard. A proud graduate of Decatur Central High School’s Class of 1969, she spent her early working years at Western Electric on the assembly line during the 1970s and 80s. She later worked at Honey and Me in Mooresville and eventually retired from the housekeeping department at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Marty found joy in life’s simple pleasures—working crossword puzzles, keeping up with the news, and watching her favorite shows, including Wheel of Fortune. She also enjoyed cheering on the Indiana Pacers and the Indiana Fever with Caitlin Clark being her favorite player.
Above all else, Marty’s greatest joy was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children and took special pride in her grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. Whether sharing laughter, offering encouragement, or simply being present, she had a way of making each of them feel deeply loved and important. The memories she created with them will be held close and carried forward always.
In addition to her parents, Marty was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Roberts Sr. on August 10, 2007, and her companion, Jeff Marr.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, Charles (Colleen) Roberts Jr. of Trafalgar and Peggy (Scott) Kelley of Martinsville; her beloved grandchildren, Charles James Roberts, Leanne Roberts, Gunner Kelley, Jessica Platt, Kaitlin Darlington, and Christian Kelley; her siblings, Mary Meek, Effie Matlock, Peggy (Larry) Hawkins, Carolyn (Larry) Whiteside, and Marilyn (John) Wilson; her bonus daughter, Jennifer Marr; and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Meredith Funeral Home, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Rev. Burt Brock. A graveside service will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Red Hill Cemetery in Pennington Gap, Virginia.
