Lottie C. (Brock) Collins, age 94 passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, August 23, 2022 at her home in Brown County.
She was born July 1, 1928 in Rock Castle, Kentucky, to her parents, the late Sim Francis and Virgie (Simpson) Brock. Lottie was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. She worked for over years 15 years at Harman-Becker Automotive in Martinsville. Prior to that, she worked at the Red Gold Canning Factory in Trafalgar.
Lottie was preceded in death on March 24, 1992 by her loving husband of 46 years, Dennis Collins, whom she married on November 10, 1945 in Columbus. Lottie was also preceded in death by her son, Rev. Leroy Collins; siblings, Irene Moore, Beulah Hatfield, Jewel Brock, Nellie Jo Brock, Hobart 'Ag' Brock, Rufus Brock, Lloyd Brock, Edgar Brock, Morris Brock, Lester Brock and Sim Brock; great grandchildren, Jeremy Lee Collins and Lindsey Collins.
Lottie is survived by her sons, Loyd (Dottie) Collins, Larry (Linda) Collins & Greg Collins, all of Brown County; sister, Doris Arnold of Brown County; daughter in law, Joan Collins of Brown County; 10 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, 35 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
More than anything, she was a devoted Christian who loved being in church, especially when her son Leroy was preaching. Lottie was very musically inclined and loved to play her guitar at church and lead the congregation in hymns. She attended church at the Waverly Interdenominational Church, Spearsville Wesleyan Church in Brown County and the Mt. Olive Church in Martinsville. Lottie would often keep the church children company during all night church revivals. She loved tending to her flower & vegetable gardens and reading her Bible. Later in life, Lottie became a fan of NASCAR with Kyle Busch being her favorite driver. She was also a fan of FBI and western television shows. Lottie will be remembered for her cooking and baking, especially her liver & onions, banana split cake & cherry delight. Lottie took her first trip out of Indiana at age 70 when she visited Florida, but was known as homebody who always enjoyed visits from family and friends.
The Rev. Don Walden will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Meredith - Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends may visit from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Spearsville Wesleyan Church Cemetery in Brown County.
