Loretta Roller Obituary

Loretta L. Roller, age 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Community South Hospital in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Martinsville formerly of Greenwood.

Loretta was born in Brown County on January 9, 1932, to the late Clarence and Myrtle (Black) Jackson. She was a 1950 graduate of Helmsburg High School. Loretta retired in 2000 as an Administrative Assistant for the State of Indiana Division of Oil & Gas after more than 50 years of service.

She was a former member of Bargersville Christian Church. Loretta enjoyed working word search puzzles, sewing, and crocheting. She was a fan of classic television shows, especially Gunsmoke. Loretta also enjoyed reading the Chicken Soup for the Soul books, camping, and traveling with her family. She loved caring for her dog, John.

In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her brother, John Jackson.

Loretta is survived by her daughters, Susan Lear of Greenwood and Jeane (Jerry) Roller-Waldon of Martinsville; grandchildren, Katie (Chris) Simpson of Greenwood, Jennie Lear of Greenwood, Chris Waldon of Martinsville, and Amanda Waldon of Martinsville; and great-grandchildren, Savannah Simpson and Cameron Lear.

The Rev. Burt Brock will conduct a graveside service on Monday, June 15, at 2:00 p.m. at Nineveh Cemetery. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Loretta to the Morgan County Humane Society, 690 W. Mitchell Ave., Martinsville, IN 46151.
