Lois Irene (Fluharty) Scrogham, age 66 passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2026 at her home in Edinburgh. She was a former resident of Brown County.
Lois was born on February 21, 1960 in Indianapolis to her parents the late James and Rose Marie (Bolton) Fluharty. She married the love of her life, Marvin Scrogham on December 17, 1983 in Nashville and spent 50 wonderful years together
Lois dedicated much of her life to caring for others, working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at facilities including Brown County Health & Living and Franklin Meadows. She also spent time working as a waitress at Grandma’s Kitchen in Nashville, where her warm personality touched many.
Lois had a deep love for music and was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. Lois enjoyed singing with her family and creating joyful moments that will be cherished forever. She also enjoyed playing cards, trying her luck at craps, coloring, and even dancing and playing in the rain.
Above all, Lois loved her family deeply and treasured every moment spent together. Her kindness, laughter, and loving spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She will be missed by her husband Marvin Scrogham of Edinburgh; children, Angela Lee (Brandon) of Columbus, JamieLynn Voils of Brown County, Audra Burkhart (Chad Davis) of Trafalgar, and Marvin D. Scrogham Jr. (Rechelle Foxworthy) of Edinburgh; grandchildren, Ashley Pugh (Nathan Wade), Caius Pugh, Benjamin Voils IV, Devin Voils, Trinity Voils (fiancé, Jeremiah King), Daphanie Scrogham, Victoria Burkhart, and Kylie Davis; great grandchildren, Amelia, Benjamin and Camryn; and her brothers, Harry, Steve and Timothy Fluharty.
Lois was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Marie Fluharty, father, James Fluharty, biological father, Harry Stiver and a grandson, Connor Pugh.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, April 13th 2026 at Meredith Funeral Home 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Pastor Randy LaVere will conduct a funeral service at 7.p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith Funeral Home in Morgantown.
