Lee Alan Work, age 37, passed away all too soon on Sunday afternoon, June 7, 2026, at his home in Greenwood.
Lee was born on November 4, 1988, in Franklin, Indiana. He attended Center Grove High School and recently achieved a significant milestone by completing his fourth-year pipefitter apprenticeship with the Pipefitters & Steamfitters UA Local 440.
Lee enjoyed playing basketball and was a devoted admirer of Michael Jordan. He had a special love for animals, especially his two beloved cats. He found peace and joy in nature, often spending time on walks, exploring creeks, and discovering the wildlife around him. Above all, Lee cherished the time he spent with his family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
He will be deeply missed by his mother, Joy (Paul) Elkins of Needham; son, Laylen Work; sisters, Crystal Hubbard of Needham and Casey Wyatt of Bargersville as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Alan Work and nephew, Anthony Hubbard Jr.
A visitation will be held from 12 – 2 p.m. on Friday, June 12th 2026 at Meredith Funeral Home, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
