Keith E. Matlock

Keith E. Matlock, age 79 passed away peacefully on Monday evening, February 13, 2023 at his home in Nashville.

He was born January 24, 1944 in Columbus, to his parents, the late Noble and Florence (Sullivan) Matlock. Keith was a 1962 graduate of Brown County High School. He was retired from the United States Postal Service where he worked for over 27 years as a Carrier. Prior to that, he worked for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus.

Keith was an all-around outdoor enthusiast who enjoyed farming and his John Deere tractor. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, feeding the birds and helping out his neighbors.

Keith is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dolly (Lucas) Matlock, whom he married on December 6, 1966 in Nashville. He is also survived by his children, Julie Matlock, Brian Matlock & Melinda (Troy) Summers, all of Nashville; siblings, Donna Pennington and Rex (Barbara) Matlock, both of Columbus; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Noah Matlock; siblings, Wanda Gray, Ray, Richard & Ted Matlock.

Pastor Gary Cave will conduct a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Pleasant Valley Separate Baptist Church, 3888 State Road 46 E. in Nashville. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church. Inurnment will be at Reeves Cemetery in Brown County.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
