Katherine S. (Bruce) Konechnik

Katherine S. ‘Kathy’ (Bruce) Konechnik, age 73 passed away on Tuesday afternoon, August 8, 2023 at IU Health in Bedford. She was a resident of Brown County.

Kathy was born January 3, 1950 in Indianapolis, to her parents, the late Fred Alman and Natalie Murray (Day) Bruce. She worked for over 20 years as a Cosmetologist in Martinsville. 

Kathy was of Catholic faith. She enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, watching television and caring for her dogs, Molly and Lucy. Kathy also enjoyed living in Brown County and feeding and watching the hummingbirds. She will be remembered for her cooking and baking, especially her apple pie.

Kathy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 34 years, Frank J. Konechnik, whom she married on September 24, 1988 in Indianapolis. She is also survived by her children, Larry Ratliff & Michael Ratliff both of Indianapolis; brother, Phillip (Kay) Bruce of Indianapolis; and several grandchildren.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, David Bruce.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
