Karen L. (Ballard) Randall, age 72 passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at her home in Brownsburg.
Karen was born January 9, 1953 in Indianapolis to her parents, the late Elmer L. and Myrtle "Maxine" (Fodrill) Ballard. She attended Ben Davis High School. Karen retired in 2008 from Covidian, where she worked as an assembler. Prior to that, she worked at the Hob Knob in Nashville.
She enjoyed watching Charles Stanley on Sunday mornings, the television series Heartland as well as other Channel 6 and ABC programming. Karen loved learning about Tuscany, watching the Olympics and reading novels by her favorite author, Debbie Macomber. Karen was a former crafter and dabbled into just about every craft, with her favorite being, sewing, cross stitching and woodworking with her scroll saw. Most of all, Karen enjoyed watching movies and gathering with friends and family.
She will be missed by her daughter, Shannon (Jason) Burdge of Greencastle; grandchildren, Amber (Zach) Rhine of Cloverdale, Grace Burdge and Brody Burdge; great grandchildren, Lincoln, Nora & Ellie; siblings, Donna (Mike) Mueller of Brown County and Marty Vaughn of Indianapolis; as well as her nieces and nephews, Julie (David) Neibaur, Christy (Andy) Bailey, Frank (Kay) Mac, Kellie (Travis) Snider, Michelle Mueller and Kathy Mueller.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Russ Ballard and Rick Vaughn.
A private family gathering will be held before being laid to rest at Unity Cemetery in Brown County. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral in Morgantown.
