Joyce E. (Northway) Reed, age 80 passed away peacefully on Saturday evening, June 17, 2023 at her home in Morgantown with her devoted husband by her side.
Joyce was born September 16, 1942 in Greenfield, Massachusetts to her parents, the late Paul and Dorothy (Stoddard) Northway. She was a 1960 graduate of North High School in Worcester, MA and attended the Worcester Art Museum. Joyce retired in 2008 from Putnam Savings Bank in Putnam, Connecticut where she worked as a bookkeeper for several years.
Joyce married Clifford D. Reed on May 25, 1989 in Millbury, MA and later renewed their vows, 30 years later, in 2019 in Las Vegas officiated by Elvis Presley. She was a member of the Fair Haven Christian Church in Franklin and enjoyed swimming at the Martinsville YMCA with her sister-in-law, Linda. Joyce also enjoyed painting, decorating and canning vegetables from her husband’s garden. She loved caring for her dog, Willie Nelson, as well as snowmobiling & boating in Massachusetts with her husband.
Joyce will be missed by her loving husband of 34 years, Clifford D. Reed of Morgantown; children, Cindy Rosenbush and Gordon Army both of Worcester, MA & Jeff Army of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Josh (Nicole) Smith of West Boylston, MA, Sara Army of Indianapolis & Jake Army of Worcester, MA; great grandchildren, Carter & Mason Smith both of West Boylston, MA; brother, Paul Northway of Worcester, MA; step children, James (Jen) Reed & Betty Jo (Jimmy) Johns both of Florida & Tina Margason & Amy (Phil) Brown both of Indianapolis; cousins, Sandy Newman of Virginia & Nancy Auclair of North Dakota; step grandchildren, Adam, Josh & Aaron Reed, Jay Young, Brian Beckner, Garrett, Landon & Grayson Brown; and several step great grandchildren.
Pastor Brian Clark will conduct a funeral service on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be at Harris Cemetery in Bargersville.
