Joshua Lee Barton

Joshua Lee Barton, 45, of Brown County IN’s Van Buren Twp. passed away Nov 8, 2022, the result of injuries received in an auto accident.

Josh was born June 13, 1977 and is survived by his parents, Frank D. Barton (Sandy) of Phoenix, AZ and Susie A. Rogers (Rob) of Columbus, IN. He leaves behind two children, Lauren and Colton Barton of Appleton, WI and a brother, Adam Jacob “AJ” Barton (Brittany) of Nashville, IN. Also surviving are stepsiblings, Christopher Rogers of Indianapolis, and Jennifer Sterns (Matt) of Bargersville, IN. 

Josh attended Brown County’s Van Buren Elementary school before continuing his education in the Bloomington school system. It was here that his interest in all media of art was first recognized as talented and something later appreciated by those he served so well through his work in carpentry.

Life doesn’t always close under one’s own terms. Josh’s life was taken from us far sooner than what we always hoped, but those experiencing life with Josh will always be thankful for times spent together. He had an interesting life, a life filled with many more good times than difficult ones. His life added artistic color to the palette that was ours. Josh’s big heart will be missed, yet comfort taken in knowing his light will always shine in the hearts of those left behind, the ones he so dearly loved. 

A celebration of Josh Barton’s life will take place Sunday, Nov 20th at Mike’s Dance Barn, Nashville, IN, starting at 1 PM. A pitch-in lunch will be shared, along with memories of our good times spent with Josh.

Services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
