Joseph “Brian” Hackett, age 66 passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, September 26, 2024 at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Trafalgar.
Brian was born June 27, 1958 in Indianapolis, to his parents, the late Harland J. and Judith E. (Brown) Hackett. He was a 1976 graduate of Perry Meridian High School. Brian married the love of his life, Deborah S. Eubanks on October 15, 1977 in Greenwood and were blessed with three children and 46 years of marriage.
Brian co-owned and worked as a Sales Engineer for Conveyors & Transmission in Greenwood, selling technical products and services to businesses for the past 25 years. In his free time, Brian enjoyed going to the horse track, especially the Kentucky Derby. He also enjoyed fishing and wintering with his wife in Punta Gorda, Florida. Brian was a fan of the Tampa Bay Rays Baseball, Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University Football & Basketball. He will be remembered for his love of family and his love for his dogs, Derby and Deja.
He will be missed by his wife, Deborah Hackett; children, Anthony (Amanda) Hackett of Columbus, Jason Hackett of Trafalgar and Cassie (Joey) Brown of Nineveh; grandchildren, Morgan, Brooke, Taylor, Mason and Landen Hackett, Aden Bernd and Logan Brown.
In keeping with Brian’s wishes, he will be cremated with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at a future date. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
