John B. Collins, age 74 passed away peacefully at his home in Brown County on Thursday morning, February 16, 2023.
He was born January 1, 1949 in Anderson and was a 1967 graduate of Brown County High School. After high school, John enlisted with the United States Marine Corps. He loved spending time in the outdoors by mowing and gardening. He also enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting in his younger years. Most of all, he loved spending time with friends and family and taking care of his cats: One and Two.
He will be missed by his children, Michelle (Jeffrey) Wagers and Tony (Tana) Collins both of Brown County; companion, Penny Brock; grandchildren, Megan Wagers, Madison (Samuel) Fuson, Jeremy Wagers and Alexandria Root, 5 great grandchildren; and brother Richard ‘Junkyard’ Collins of Brown County.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy (Gibson) Hash; step-father Bill Berringer; grandson, Keaton Todd Root and siblings, Connie Bay and Larry Collins.
In keeping with John’s wishes, he will be cremated. Services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
