Jerry J. (McCoskey) Straley, age 81 of Brown County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, October 16, 2024 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.
Jerry was born in Noblesville on October 26, 1942, to her parents, the late Perry L. and Vivian I. "Jean" (Wood) McCoskey. She attended Tipton High School. Jerry was a loving wife, mother and homemaker who worked various jobs so she could stay home and raise her children. Jerry was a successful Mary Kay Sales Consultants for over 27 years. She was inducted into the Mary Kay “Queen Court of Sales” for being in the top three of sales.
Besides her parents, Jerry was preceded in death by a son, Robert Dennis Mitchell; grandchildren, Dawn Jackson & Joey Richards; and brothers, Larry Leon McCoskey, Herb Stafford and Cleon Stafford.
She is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Gary A. Straley, whom she married on May 23, 1992 in Trafalgar. Jerry is also survived by her children, Robbi (Dan) Delph of Tipton, Rhonda Mitchell of Ft. Myers, Florida, Ron Mitchell of Tipton, Roger (Cindy) Mitchell of Tipton & Christina Geer of Anderson; sisters, Grace Boyer & Susan Stafford both of California; 9 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren & 6 great-great grandchildren.
Jerry stayed active by tending to her flower & vegetable gardens, where she grew strawberries and cucumbers. She enjoyed horseback riding and riding with her husband, Gary, on his Harley Davidson Trike. Jerry loved her family dearly and will be missed by all those she loved.
Pastor Steve Brown will conduct a graveside service on October 26th at 12:00 p.m. at East Union Cemetery, E. 296th Street & US HWY 31 in Atlanta, Indiana. Funeral services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
