Irene "Dodie" D. (Bidleman) Thompson

Irene D. “Dodie” (Bidleman) Thompson, age 66 passed away unexpectedly on Friday afternoon, June 28, 2024 at her home in Paragon.

Dodie was born December 16, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri, to her parents, the late James Lange and Laura Lou (Claywell) Bidleman. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. Dodie loved tending to her flower & vegetable gardens, reading Danielle Steel Novels and working word search puzzles. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her husband, Michael J. “Mike” Thompson, whom she married on June 28, 2008. Dodie is also survived by her daughters, Leslie (Chad) Heagy of Nashville and Laura (Mike) Burton of Edinburgh; step sons, Israel (Lacey Sample) Thompson, Brandon (Barbie Williams) Thompson and Frank (Jody) Thompson; brother, Danny Bidleman of Denton, TX;    grandchildren, Kimberly (Aaron) Spilker, Matthew (Molly) Heagy, Ryan (Katie) Burton and Miranda Burton; great grandchildren, Andrew, Zachary, Chloe, Olivia and Luke; eight step grandchildren; nephews, Walker Payne and Zachary (Michelle) Payne; several great nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Dodie was preceded in death by siblings, Leora Payne, Ray and Mike Bidleman; and grandchildren, Dillon Michael Burton and Angel Ann Marie Heagy.

In keeping with Dodie’s wishes, she will be cremated with a celebration of her life to be held at a future date. Services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
