Gerald L. Dodd, aged 80, passed away on Monday evening, February 5, 2024, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. A resident of Martinsville, Gerald was born on December 25, 1943, in Indianapolis, to the late Lloyd and Edna Dodd. He graduated from George Washington High School in 1962 and went on to work 25 years at Yellow Freight, retiring in 2002.
Gerald was known for his love of horses and camping, the movie Barbarosa, and a dog named Blue that never came home, no matter how loud he yelled for him. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Jo Dodd, and their children, Shanna, Travis (Christina), and Shane (Kelley). Additionally, he is survived by his brother, Ronald (Linda) Dodd, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald Dodd.
In accordance with his wishes, Gerald will be cremated, with cremation services entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
