Garry Lane Graves, age 68, of Martinsville, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, October 26, 2025, at Community Hospital South in Indianapolis.
He was born on December 26, 1956, in Franklin, to Edgar E. and Eva Mae (Voorheis) Graves. Garry was a 1976 graduate of Indian Creek High School. Throughout his life, he worked in manufacturing, was a talented welder, and as a truck driver—always dedicated to providing for his family.
Garry farmed with his brother, baling hay and raising hogs and enjoyed being a helpful farm hand with local farmers. He loved the outdoors, whether camping, fishing, or spending time on the farm. Above all, he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Vickie (Williamson) Graves, whom he married on July 14, 1979, in Morgantown. Also surviving are his mother, Eva Mae Graves of Franklin; children, Shannon (Angela Stark) Graves of Morgantown and Timothy (Amanda) Graves of Centerville; grandchildren, Jaxon Stark, Grace Graves, Lane Graves, Hunter White, Gwyn Graves, Tinsley Graves and Wyatt Graves; brother, Michael Graves of Franklin; and nieces, Katrina Napier and Lisa Haas.
Garry was preceded in death by his father, Edgar Graves.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Saturday, November 1, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Burt Brock. Burial will take place at Nebo Memorial Park in Martinsville.
