Evie was born on October 4, 1946, in Harlan County, Kentucky, to the late Carl Franklin “Frank” and Bertha Lee (Bowling) Patterson. She attended Union High School in Johnson County.
Evie retired in 1994 from Franklin Mills in Franklin, where she was employed as a seamstress. Prior to that, she worked in Housekeeping at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
Evie was deeply proud of her grandchildren and delighted in spoiling them. She enjoyed traveling and over the years visited nine states and Canada. Evie found great joy in tending her flower garden, where she grew roses and carnations, as well as sewing, making decorative wreaths, playing computer games, and working word-search puzzles. She was an avid fan of the television shows Duck Dynasty and Criminal Minds, enjoyed horse racing, and liked visiting Argosy Casino.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Angela Williamson and Sharon Poulisse, both of Greenwood, and Sherry (Tommy) Deel of Franklin; her siblings, James (Nancy) Patterson of Greenwood and Patsy (Mickey) Derringer of Nineveh; her grandchildren, Matthew (Kristal) Jewell, Randan (Jessica) Jewell, Krysta (Jacob) Goodin, Adam Poulisse, Dustin Poulisse, and Jeremy “Jay” Poulisse; and her great-grandchildren, Olive, Juniper, James & Judah Jewell and Kennady Cormack; and several nieces and nephews.
