Deborah A. “Debbie” (Berger) McHenry, age 68 passed away peacefully on Monday evening, October 3, 2022 at Morgantown Health Care-Inn. She was a resident of Indianapolis.
Debbie was born February 14, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, to her parents, the late Richard and Jean Lois (Barnes) Berger. She worked as a waitress for over 30 years in various cities and states. Debbie married Shannon G. McHenry on August 6, 2004 in Indianapolis. He lovingly survives after 18 devoted years of marriage.
Debbie was a loving mother and grandmother, who lived for her grandchildren. She was very social and loved to go to the casino and play bingo with her friends. Debbie also enjoyed listening to and dancing at the American Legion while her husband, son, David and son-in-law, Tim played in their band. Debbie will be remembered most for her love of Motown music and love of family.
Debbie will be missed by her husband, Shannon McHenry of Indianapolis, children; David (Amanda) Brenneman of Barto, Florida, and Stacey Lee of Anderson; grandchildren: Gwendolynn, Zoey, David III, Olivia, Robert, Jacob, Juliann, Timmy, Emile III; great grandson, Noah and siblings, Dale Berger of Indianapolis and Russell Berger of Barto, Florida as well as several nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, children Emile Arabo, Richard “Ricky” Brenneman and brothers, Richard & Thomas Berger.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
