Dean L. Ford, age 16, of Russellville, passed away all too soon on Wednesday morning, December 10, 2025, after a courageous 6-year battle with Ewing Sarcoma cancer. Though his life was far too short, Dean filled every moment with a quiet strength, a kind heart, and a resilience that inspired all who knew him.
Dean was born on November 16, 2009 in Greenfield. He was a loving son, brother, grandson and friend. He faced each challenge with determination and hope, never letting his illness define him. Those who knew him will forever remember his gentle spirit, his big smile, and his quick sarcasm that made others feel seen and cared for. Dean had a special ability to bring comfort and light, even on the hardest days.
He found joy in playing video games, watching YouTube videos, Lego building and watching Chef Ramsey on Kitchen Rescue. When he was younger Dean enjoyed being outdoors and fishing. He also enjoyed eating, especially at Taco Bell and China Buffets. Most of all he treasured time spent with his family and friends. Dean’s courage throughout his journey was a testament to his character, and his legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched.
Dean is survived by his father, Derek A. Ford of Russellville; mother, Natasha M. (Sizemore) Ford of Anderson; brother, Seth Bare of Russellville; and a loving circle of grandparents, Deanna (Darren) Emerson-Sons of Russellville, Dean Ford of Greenfield, Tabitha (Denver) Ramey of Indianapolis, Jerry (Rebecca) Sizemore of Florida, Patty Sizemore of Greenfield, Sherry Emerson of Brown County, Toni Derby of Indianapolis and Scott Warner of Indianapolis; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Donna Sanders, Aster Sizemore and Bud Emerson.
A Celebration of Dean’s Life will be conducted by Pastor Aaron Swafford on Wednesday, December 17th at 1 p.m. at Meredith Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends and family are welcome to visit from 11 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Spearsville Wesleyan Church Cemetery in Brown County.
