David M. Ford

David M. Ford, 62, of Nashville, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, January 9, 2025, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

David was born on August 14, 1962, in Lucas, Ohio, to Denzil L. and Ruby A. (Gillespie) Ford. He was a 1980 graduate of Brown County High School and went on to earn an associate’s degree from Ivy Tech in Human Resources. David retired in 2008 from Harmon-Becker Automotive in Martinsville, where he worked as a Test Lab Technician.

David had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed taking walks in the woods and mushroom hunting. He was also an avid viewer of survivalist shows, the History Channel and action movies with John Wayne. Above all, David cherished his family, and he will be fondly remembered for always being there for them. He lived by his moto, “One Good Deed a Day.”

David is survived by his mother, Ruby Ford of Nashville; children, James (Alexa) Hughes of Martinsville, Ashlee Hughes of Nashville and Jacob Ford of Franklin; sister, Deborah Shearer of Franklin; mother of his children, Carla Hail of Paragon; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Denzil Ford, and brothers, Donald and Michael Ford.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with burial following at Nineveh Cemetery.
