Connie Jean (Dent) Garrett

Connie Jean (Dent) Garrett, age 45 of Franklin, passed away all too soon Wednesday morning, November 22, 2023 at her home in Franklin.

Connie was born February 3, 1978 in Princeton, Indiana to her parents Morris “Eddie” Dent and Janet Sue Buchta. She was a 1996 graduate of Pike Central High School and went on to later attend Oakland City College. Connie worked as an ordained minister and wedding officiant.

Connie was a member of the Gospel Assembly Church in Indianapolis. She enjoyed playing video games, scrolling through owl posts on the internet and shopping for her grandchildren. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  

She will be missed by her husband, Timothy Garrett, whom she married on September 18, 2023 in Franklin. Connie will also be missed by her mother, Janet Sue Buchta of Petersburg; children: Emily (Steven Snyder) Smith of Franklin, Aarron (Tammy Malmgren) Epley of Washington, Eddy Garrett of Bargersville, Thomas Garrett of Greenfield, and Tonya (Dennis) Harden of Franklin, grandchildren: Zayden Smith, Tyllson, Serena and Kyla Snyder, Aviona, Owen, Adeline and Landon Garrett and Sonya and Ryan Harden and one grandchild on the way; siblings Julie Healy of Washington, Robert “Bobby” Dent of Princeton and William “Billy” Rainey of Ferdinand.

Connie was preceded in death by an infant brother and her father, Morris “Eddie” Dent.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
