Ret. Master Chief Petty Officer Clyde E. Beaver, age 76 of Chalan Pago, Guam, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, October 3, 2024 at Community Heart & Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Clyde, known as “Buddy” by his family and friends, was born on June 6, 1948 in Indianapolis, to his parents, the late Charles E. and Mildred G. (Glass) Beaver. He was a 1966 graduate of Morgantown High School and later earned an Associate's Degree from Maryland University in Business. Buddy retired in 1986 as a Master Chief Petty Officer, after a 30-year career with the United States Navy. He served two tours in Vietnam and settled in Guam where he was honorably discharged in 1986.
Buddy will be remembered as a simple person who loved caring for his family, especially his granddaughters who he cherished dearly. He enjoyed nature walks, reading novels by James Michener and caring for his cat, Goober. Buddy also enjoyed watching professional football.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death on July 7, 2019 by his loving wife of 49 years, Priscillia (Mesa) Beaver, whom he married on February 19, 1970 in Guam. Buddy was also preceded in death by a son, Cris Mesa Beaver; and a sister, Judy Beaver.
He is survived by his son, David (wife, Marie) Beaver of Chalan Pago, Guam; granddaughters, Isabella & Victoriana Beaver, both of Chalan Pago, Guam; siblings, Charles “Charlie” (wife, Shelly) Beaver of Morgantown, Mark Beaver of Peoria, AZ, Peggy (husband, Mark) Perry of Morgantown, Susan (husband, Steve) Ralph of Martinsville, Sherri (Brian) Donahue of South Carolina, Carrie (husband, Jeff) Lohrman of Brazil, IN and Wayne Beaver of Morgantown.
Rev. Burt Brock will conduct a funeral service on Friday, October 11th at 7 p.m. at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Buddy will have additional funeral services in Guam and will eventually be laid to rest by his wife, Priscilla at Guam Veterans Cemetery in Piti, Guam.
