Clarice Diane (Sutton) Purcell

Clarice Diane (Sutton) Purcell, age 86 of Brown County, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, September 23, 2024 at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.

Clarice was born October 7, 1937 in Indianapolis, to her parents, the late Roy Glenn and Margaret (Paddock) Sutton II. She graduated high school in California and later married Thomas Purcell on November 17, 1968 in Las Vegas.  

Clarice and her husband, Tom, co-owned several local businesses in Johnson County. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her children and grandchildren, which were her world.

Clarice will be missed by her husband of 55 years, Thomas Purcell; children, Brad Purcell of Avon and Kelly (Matt) Satter of Brown County; grandchildren, Kylie, Kaytlin, Nicholas, Olivia, Mattie, Marqi and Merci; sister, Nilah Lange of Danville as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Roy Glenn Sutton III.  

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
