Christine R. (Capuano) Rene

Christine R. “Chris” (Capuano) Rene, age 97 passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, December 24, 2023 at Banta Pointe in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Indianapolis.

Chris was born June 11, 1926 in St. Louis, MO to her parents, the late Anthony and Mary (Bisesi) Capuano. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and sister. During the 1960’s thru the early 80’s she was a stand holder at the Indianapolis City Market, where she sold fruits and vegetables. Later, Chris worked for several years as a Hostess at McDonalds in Indianapolis.

She was devout Catholic and a member of Holy Rosary Church in Indianapolis. Chris enjoyed spending time with her family and loved playing Bingo and Bunko.

She is survived by her daughters, Concetta (Roger) Palamara and Toni (John) Czenkusch both of Indianapolis & Shellie (Mark) Lindgren of Martinsville; grandchildren, Angela (Jamie) Meredith of Trafalgar, Christopher (Rob) Brunner, Brian (fiancée, Abi Webster) Czenkusch & Maggie Czenkusch all of Indianapolis, Daniel (Kristina) Lindgren of Ft. Worth, TX; great grandchildren, Hunter Meredith, Gracee Meredith, Joanna King, Marcus King & Noah Lindgren.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Anthony J. "Tony" Rene; daughter, Mary Ann Rene; and a sister, Rose Ann Todd.

Father Tim Wyciskalla will conduct a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 5th at 11 a.m. at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, 535 E. Edgewood Avenue in Indianapolis. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday at the church. Entombment will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Indianapolis. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home in Morgantown.
