Carol Ann Barnes, age 60, passed away on Sunday evening, May 11, 2025, at her home in Brown County.
Born on May 15, 1964, in Indianapolis, Carol was the daughter of the late Maurice and Catherine (Walker) Barnes. She was a 1982 graduate of Brown County High School and was employed for many years as an Installer with Dish Network.
Carol was a former member of Unity Baptist Church in Brown County. She had a deep love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter, participating in quail, pheasant, and chukar hunting. Alongside her beloved hunting dogs, she earned several awards in competitive field trials. Carol also found great joy in caring for her horse, “Socks,” who held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her brother, Mark Barnes of Brown County, along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In keeping with Carol’s wishes, no services will be held. Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown has been entrusted with her arrangements.
