Bruce Hendricks Obituary

Bruce Hendricks went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday November 21, 2023 at 7:14 pm.

He was born in Beech Grove, Indiana and was a graduate of Triton Central High School and received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at IUPUI. He worked for Cummins Inc. for 41 years, retiring in 2015. 

He always loved and respected nature and strived to preserve the land. He raised hereford cattle for 15 years, he also enjoyed deer and pheasant hunting, fishing, birding, raising bees, gardening and traveling. He especially enjoyed yearly pheasant hunting trips to South Dakota with his Brittany named Heidi and his cousin Jeff and Uncle Bill.  He also enjoyed numerous fishing trips to Cook, Minnesota and Nestor Falls, Ontario with friends and family. He loved planting and raising trees and flowers to enhance a green environment. He was an avid history buff, especially for World War II and family genealogy. Bruce loved his family, especially his five grandchildren. He leaves his family with many loving lasting memories. 

Bruce previously attended Cottonwood Church in Brown County but most recently attended Nashville Bible Church. 

He is survived by loving wife of 36 years Lu, sons Dr. Benjamin (Nikki) Hendricks and Daniel Hendricks, five grandchildren: Evelyn, Twins-Asher & Calvin, Beckham, and Daxton Hendricks, one brother: David (Christy) Hendricks and brother in-law Robert Robinette. He is also survived by four nieces and one nephew. He had many beloved cousins that were brothers to him including Jeff Rund, Mark Rund, and Mike Rund. He leaves behind his Brittany named Sophie.


He was preceded in death by brother Duane Kirk Hendricks and his parents and grandparents.

Pastor Ethan Scott will conduct a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 25th at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Brown County. Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home: 179 E. Mulberry Street in Morgantown. Funeral services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
