Brenda J. (Drane) Collins

Brenda J. (Drane) Collins, 76, of Nineveh, IN, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, October 20, 2024, at Otterbein Franklin Senior Life Community.

Born December 18, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, Brenda was the daughter of the late Walter and Bonnie (Brown) Drane. She grew up in Rockford, Illinois, and graduated from Guilford High School. Brenda went on to graduate from Beauty College, receiving her license as a Beautician, and later enjoyed a long and fulfilling career.

For over 40 years, Brenda served the community as a Beautician, owning and operating Brenda's Beauty Shop in Nineveh. She also spent 20 years working at Cummins Engine Company in Columbus, where she retired. Brenda was the former owner of two local restaurants—Corner Kitchen in Edinburgh and Aunt Bea's in Nineveh.

Brenda is survived by her son, Rev. Dr. Kevin D. Drane of Nineveh; grandson, Kevin Theirry of France, Germany; brother, Kevin W. Drane of Illinois; as well as a niece, Caitlyn, and nephews, Caleb and Tyler.

She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her infectious belly laugh, and her ability to brighten any room she entered. A lover of the arts, Brenda enjoyed oil painting, gardening, and caring for her furry friends. She was an avid reader, especially fond of fantasy and adventure novels, as well as true crime mysteries. Every year, she eagerly looked forward to the family reunions in Missouri, where she was surrounded by loved ones.

In keeping with Brenda’s wishes, she will be cremated. Cremation services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
