Barbra Parker Obituary

Barbra Lee Parker, age 78, of Brown County, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday morning, April 6, 2026. By her side was her loving husband, Rick.

Barbra was born in Elwood, Indiana on September 16, 1947, to her parents, the late William H. and Miriam Von (Wyatt) Phelps. She was a graduate of Wendell Willkie High School in Elwood. Barbra dedicated many years of her life to hard work and service, retiring in 2019 from the transportation division of Red Gold after 33 years. Prior to that, she was employed by Steel Slitting Company in Elwood.

Barbra will be remembered for her strong work ethic and her unwavering faith in God. After retiring, she moved to Brown County to enjoy a quieter pace of life. She found great joy sitting on her front porch with a cup of coffee visiting with friends, as well as spending time with her church family at Unity Baptist Church, where she faithfully attended. Barbra also had a creative spirit and enjoyed crafting, especially making wreaths. Above all, she loved her family deeply and took great joy in spoiling her grandchildren.

Barbra is survived by her devoted husband, Richard “Rick” Parker, whom she married on July 5, 2013, in Anderson; her grandchildren, Tarren Reynolds and Gage (Melody) Reynolds; and her great-grandchildren, Alaia, Hazel, and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, William Reynolds; and her brother, William “Bill” Phelps.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 18th at 12:00 p.m. at Unity Baptist Church, 7361 Spearsville Road in Morgantown. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church.
